Russ plays a mix of (mostly) acoustic rock-folk-funk that brings to mind such artists as Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. Russ "write(s) melodic, soothing odes that crawl inside the reccesses of your subconcious and root there for days at a time" (Jesse a.k.a. The Vicar www.indoorfireworks.blogspot.com) Russ himself has been described as "a fiery version of Van Morrison" (Green Cafe) with a "Morrissey and Stipe vibe" (Taxi.com). His song writing is insightful and poetic, weaving images and stories that "live in the universal flow of human experience" (Michael Pionkowski- Independent Music Critic). His musical influences range from the Folk of Donovan to the punk sound of The Clash. His performances focus on his original music but include covers of bands and artists like The Velvet Underground, Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer(The Clash), R.E.M., Van Morrison,John Prine, Bob Marley, Sinead O'connor, Ben Harper and Red House Painters.

In early 2007, Russ released a children's album entitled "Little Bird". It is a wonderful collection of Woody Guthrie's "Grow Big" songs. to order the album please visit http://www.airecordings.com

Russ Glenn is a recent transplant from Charlottesville, VA to Connecticut. He performs shows mainly for adults, however, has recently begun performing a one-hour children's show showcasing Woody Guthrie's "Grow Big" songs. The Little Bird Children's Hour is a high energy and interactive show. Russ tries to make all kids feel included and special. Children are often invited up to the stage to help make the music themselves! Russ' good friend Graham Hardt painted the image of the Little Bird that was used on the cover of the album.

The single (Blind) from his debut CD (Unless-2003) recieved attention from several college and independent radio stations spanning the country.

"Unless" was recorded at Music Focus Studios in Hermosa Beach, CA. Features Todd Phillips on Drums and Percussion and Drew Garcia on Bass. The album includes 14 original songs.. The CD is enhanced, containing 20! bonus MP3 tracks, photos, an artist profile, and lyrics accessible through a computer. AIRecordings is releasing and distributing the Disc.
